ABOUT Equalitec

Equalitec started operating in 2001 as a project of Portia funded by the DTI to help industry, universities and individuals address more effectively the problem of underrepresentation of women in ITEC and related industries.

ITEC stands for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications industries.

In 2004 the name Equalitec was adopted by Portia for its new European project, Advancing Women in ITEC. On completion in 2007, Equalitec became a consultancy service of Portia.

Our primary aim is to promote career opportunities to women, and to support their contributions to advancing and deploying digital technologies to create positive socio-cultural change.

Our focus is not limited to women, Equalitec seeks to help all individuals and organisations take full part in creating a positive Digital Future.

At Equalitec, we work with organisations to develop and implement effective recruitment and progression schemes.

We also help individuals achieve their career aspirations, enhance their employability and access greater choice of employment opportunities.

Since 2004, under the European project, we have worked with 80 organisations and over 200 individuals to develop and test a range of tools and measures to help with recruitment, employment, and professional advancement issues.

Our team has extensive experience of ITEC, understands the demands of the corporate world and the needs of individuals at different career stages ... meet the team
