MEET THE TEAM

Equalitec’s team is made up of individuals with extensive experience in ITEC and ITEC careers as well as a variation of other backgrounds that all bring vital knowledge and skills to the team

Dr Elizabeth Pollitzer - Co-founder and Director

Elizabeth’s background is in IT and Biophysics, with many years spent both teaching and researching in the Department of Computing at Imperial College, University of London. In this capacity, Elizabeth coordinated the Joint Council Initiative in Cognitive Science and Computer Interaction, which helped develop her interests in human and the social aspects of technology. She was one of the founders of Portia, Equalitec’s

parent-organisation, and instrumental in setting up and leading Equalitec. Elizabeth is a mother and Co-director of IT Synergy, an IT solutions provider that specialises in the SME market. This combined experience makes Elizabeth ideally positioned to lead Equalitec in understanding and addressing the barriers faced by women in ITEC and ITEC related industries.

Debbie Tilley - Operations Manager

Debbie has implemented and runs the financial systems that allow Equalitec to do its work. Debbie co-ordinates Equalitec’s extensive network of partners and ensures compliance with Equalitec’s funding bodies. Debbie has transferred her experience of the private banking sector and law industry to take on this extensive task. On top of this mammoth responsibility she also finds time to explore her interest in photography. Her excellent work has been exhibited on the London

Underground, providing much needed respite.

 
Lynne Bailey

Lynne Bailey – Professional Career Developer

Lynne has extensive IT experience and runs her own IT consultancy, specialising in project and process management. Lynne is responsible for Equalitec’s work with individuals. Lynne organises and executes retraining and employability maximising projects, as well as this she runs many of the career clinics. As a mother and an IT services expert she can provide

invaluable insight into the barriers and challenges facing women returning to ITEC and ITEC related industries.

Emily Crane - Communications & Publicity

Emily is the latest member to join the team. As the communications and publicity officer Emily liaises with clients and press; keeping everyone informed of Equalitec’s work. She joined in 2007 after graduating from Manchester University. Emily immediately threw herself into her role, utilising her event management expertise to publicise and organise Equalitec’s largest event. Emily has also played a major role in fund raising at Equalitec; formulating and communicating new project ideas.

 

 

Henrietta Dale - Project Coordinator

Henrietta is our Project Coordinator. She makes sure that all the elements that go into the success of our projects are firmly in place. Henrietta also constructed our new website, learning web design from scratch for the task. She graduated in 2006 with a degree in Economics and Development from Sussex University. She is also the Environmental Officer at Equalitec.

Marina Larios - International Collaboration

Marina Larios is Director of Inova Consultancy, which provides services on diversity and equal opportunities, specialising in the field of gender and SET. Key services include Mentoring Circles TM and extensive experience of coaching women to help them advance in their chosen profession.  She is also President of WiTEC, member of the International Task Force for women in IT, and a

consultant expert in EU project management.
