CAREER CLINICS |
Equalitec Career Clinics services are designed to work in partnership with individuals to provide employability-enhancing support to increase job-searching and career development self-efficacy.
|
| |
The Career Clinics are centred around helping individuals re-assess their career Attitudes, Aptitudes and Aspirations, and to improve employability potential. |
| |
The basic premise of the support provided as part of the Clinics is that many individuals, and women in particular, do not follow a straight career pathway, with a standard entry point starting with a University degree and continuing through a series of advancements building up experience and work record in a particular sector or job role. |
| |
Rather, women may GET INto a profession through a traditional or a less conventional route, GET ON for a while advancing within an employer organisation, but then GETting OUT if, for example, family caring responsibilities become too demanding, and then GETting BACK again, or trying to do so when opportunity arises.

| |
Portia's Career Clinics are designed to provide individuals with a focused and targeted assistance, involving a range of support tools and interventions. |
| |
The methodology was successfully tested over a number of years, with over 120 women participating during the development stage, whose career backgrounds varied widely, but who felt that their professional potential needed re-assessment and re-direction. |
